
Hit 70’s live performance present Misplaced in Music – One evening on the disco is coming to Swansea’s Grand Theatre on Friday 9 September.
Disco’s roots are firmly based within the early Seventies, says James Taylor, producer of the hit touring live performance present Misplaced in Music, which hits Swansea’s Grand Theatre within the coming weeks.
“It was a time when Motown Information’ largest stars started to get funky,” he says. “Philadelphia Information turned a success tune conveyor belt with its distinctive mixture of soulful vocals and luxurious preparations. And, soundtracks of flicks – from Shaft to Automotive Wash – lifted the world to its dancing ft.”
By 1977, says James, disco was in full circulate.
“Misplaced in Music fondly remembers the peak of the disco period,” he says, “faithfully recreating the most important hits of Donna Summer time, Earth Wind and Fireplace, Gloria Gaynor, Chaka Khan, Stylish, Diana Ross, Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes, Sister Sledge and extra.
“Our firm Entertainers produces scores of hit touring exhibits together with the Magic of Motown, Fastlove, The Rocket Man and Thank You for the Music,” he says. “However, Misplaced in Music is by far our liveliest manufacturing. It’s continuous dance anthems from curtain up.”

The truth is, James admits a few mid-tempo tunes have needed to be added to the 32-song set checklist to ‘give the viewers a breather’.
“From worldwide women’ anthems like I’m Each Girl and I Will Survive,” says James, “to the Nile Rogers/Bernard Edwards-produced Everyone Dance, We Are Household, I’m Coming Out, I Need Your Love and – after all – Misplaced in Music; plus the best hits from New York’s legendary Studio 54 Discotheque: You Make Me Really feel Mighty Actual, Greater than a Girl and Disco Inferno; and soul anthems Ain’t No Stopping us Now and Boogie Wonderland – it’s disco wrapped up into two hours of continuous hits.”
Backed by a gifted stay band, Misplaced in Music stars a forged boasting gorgeous vocals which mixes this with the extravagant dance strikes and fabulous trend of the period, to carry one of the best the late Seventies needed to supply to life, stay on stage.
“Audiences are taken on a musical journey straight to the center of disco by a band that simply desires to play in entrance of loopy followers,” guarantees James. “Concertgoers are inspired to come back dressed to impress and to become involved.
