Faithless singer Maxi Jazz dies aged 65
Maxi Jazz, the lead vocalist of British electronic music band Faithless and known as the voice in trance hits such as “God Is a DJ” and “Insomnia”, has died aged 65, the band said on Saturday. “He was a man who changed our lives in so many ways. He gave proper meaning and message to our music,” the other two core members of Faithless, Rollo and Sister Bliss, said in a statement on Facebook.
Jury finds Canadian rapper Tory Lanez guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion
Daystar Peterson, the Canadian rapper known as Tory Lanez, was found guilty by a Los Angeles jury on Friday of shooting fellow artist Megan Thee Stallion in both of her feet after an argument in 2020, prosecutors said. The jury found Lanez, 30, guilty of three felony counts: carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle; assault with a semiautomatic handgun; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. Lanez faces over 20 years in prison and a potential deportation to Canada.
Harry and Meghan dismiss Sun apology for offending column as ‘PR stunt’
Britain’s Prince Harry and his wife Meghan on Saturday dismissed an apology by the tabloid Sun newspaper for publishing a column highly critical of Meghan as a “PR stunt” and said the newspaper had not contacted her to say sorry. In the column, television presenter Jeremy Clarkson wrote of Meghan: “At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her.”
